The reason behind how your hoverboard knows that you have stepped on it lies in its foot sensor triggers. The sensor triggers relay information to the motherboard when you step on the hoverboard by interfering with the flow of infrared light within the hoverboard.

Basically, the sensor triggers cause a disruption in the flow of the light, and this lets the motherboard know that someone has stepped on the hoverboard. If this were to not happen, your hoverboard's motherboard would not be able to detect you on the hoverboard - and this would lead to issues with balance and stabilization.

If your pedal sensor triggers have stopped working, then you need to get them replaced as soon as possible before you can use your hoverboard again. Without working sensor triggers, both standing on and maneuvering around on the hoverboard would be difficult and unenjoyable.

The Plastic Pedal sensor triggers are universally compatible with hoverboards of all sizes - 6.5-inch, 8-inch as well as 10-inch hoverboards.

After Installing the Sensor Triggers

While you can always get your hoverboard professionally serviced so they can replace your sensor triggers for you, you can do it yourself and save the extra money. Replacing a sensor trigger is not difficult, and we will provide you with the parts you need to replace your malfunctioning sensor triggers. You can also check out guides that clearly show how you can replace your pedal sensor trigger yourself.

After you have replaced the sensor triggers, you should run a small test to make sure that your new sensor triggers are working as they should.

To do this you have to:

  • Place your hoverboard with the newly replaced plastic pedal sensor triggers on any elevated surface. You can use a box or any other surface, as long as the wheels don't touch the ground. Make sure that the surface is firm and you will be able to stand on the hoverboard.
  • Once you step off the hoverboard, if the board looks wobbly or shaky, then you have to manually adjust the sensor trigger. At the moment it is too sensitive and will not provide quality performance for your hoverboard.
  • To resolve this issue, you need to take a sharp blade, even a small safety blade will suffice, and use it to carefully cut through the top layer of your new sensor trigger. The cut should be about the size of a penny height-wise.
  • After removing the first layer, check for the sensitivity of the sensor trigger on your hoverboard by repeating the first step. If your hoverboard is still shaking or rolling, you will need to slice another layer off.

In this way, you can handle any issues with a sensitive pedal sensor trigger from the comfort of your home.

Returns

Due to the nature of our business being the sale and installation of replacement electronic parts, there are no returns allowed unless considered DOA (dead on arrival). In the case of DOA parts, you must contact us within 14 days and we will dispatch replacement parts to exchange for the DOA parts.

If we decide to accept a return for any reason it is at our sole discretion and your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

To complete your return, you must have purchased it on our website www.hoverboardrepair.com as we require a receipt / proof of purchase.

Any item that is returned without an RMA will be denied a refund. You must contact us prior to returning goods in order to have your return accepted.

Refunds (if applicable)

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Late or Missing Refunds (if applicable)

If we approved a return for you and you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at [email protected].

Sale Items (if applicable)

Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded. Sale items are denoted by a special price with the regular price struck out.

Exchanges (if applicable)

We only replace items that have manufacturer defects or were delivered in damaged condition. WE DO NOT EXCHANGE ITEMS THAT WERE DAMAGED DURING INSTALL. You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item and any loss by a shipping company is not our responsibility.
